When iOS 1 came alongside the first iPhone the Apple mobile operating system was very different to how it is now. There was no AppStore , no location, no iTunes Store. It was an SO in its infancy, and this young man has grown a lot in the last 10 years ...
With the iPhone 3G was released iOS 2.0, and brought great changes. Finally users could access an App Store from which to download applications, and use 3G data and GPS.
Maybe many of you do not remember it, you were too young. But the functionality of "Copy and Paste" has not always been present in mobile phones. In fact, Apple did not implement it on their smartphones until the arrival of iOS 3. And now no one could imagine life without it, right? In addition, iOS 3.0 also brought in (sometimes obnoxious) in-app purchases, movie rentals on iTunes, keyboard landscape mode, and voice controls.
In June 2010 Apple introduced iOS 4, the arrival of App Switcher to switch between application and application, the introduction of application folders, and Mail's unified inbox. On the other hand, iOS 4 also offered iBooks, iAd, AirPrint, AirPlay and Find My iPhone . A great update, no doubt.
With iOS 5 Apple was bringing its iPhone into a new modern era thanks to the implementation of really impressive changes: Siri, integration with Twitter, iMessage, iCloud and that Kiosk application that nobody used ... The company also presented some improvements in the Notifications Center.
Apple launched iOS 6.0 and its application Apple Maps , which received very harsh criticism due to comparisons with Google Maps. In addition, the company introduced the 3G connection in FaceTime, and integration with the social network Facebook. Siri also received improvements to be more functional.
IOS 7.0 was one of the biggest updates in the history of Apple's mobile operating system. Its design changed radically thanks to the minimalist vision of Jony Ive. The icons of the applications were much flatter, the user interface was much more visual, and presented such interesting news as AirDrop, Control Center and iTunes Radio.
In September of the year 2014 Apple showed to the world iOS 8, a version that brought HealthKit, HomeKit, calls Wi-Fi, Widgets for the Center of notifications, keyboards of third parties, Apple Pay and Apple Music .
Apple surprised iPhone and iPad users with two truly useful features in iOS 9: multitasking and 3D Touch . Users could finally use multiple applications at the same time and access one-touch quick features. In addition, iOS 9 introduced Live Photos, Notes enhancements, Traffic directions in Maps, Energy Saving mode, News application, iCloud Drive application, Night Shift function and Notes ID protection.
And finally we get to the present with iOS 10, which implemented major updates to Apple's mobile ecosystem. IOS 10 slightly resembles iOS 7 changes with a major redesign of the Lock Screen, the Widgets, the Notification Center and the Control Center. The iMessage and Apple Music applications were also improved, as well as other small updates in the iOS 10 apps.
