IPhone 8: You can use the Touch ID directly on the OLED screen

From DigiTimes indicate that the iPhone 8 will use a new optical fingerprint sensor technology that will allow users to place their fingers directly on the OLED screen to scan their fingerprints through the Touch ID function.
The display's radius will change from 16: 9 on the iPhone 7 to 18.5: 9 and infrared sensors will offer new augmented reality functions in the camera.

It is expected that the iPhone 8 will be a revolution in both hardware and design level, will have a chassis of glass and stainless steel . In addition, as previously mentioned in other articles, the 10th anniversary smartphone will have a 5.8 inch OLED display from edge to edge and without side bezels.

The position of the Touch ID on the iPhone 8 has been a mystery

For several months we have been collecting rumors about the problems in implementing the Touch ID on the OLED screen of the iPhone 8. Therefore, it was difficult to predict how Apple was going to solve the matter.

In fact, several filtered prototypes of the iPhone 8 appeared suggesting that the Touch ID functionality would be located at the rear of the terminal , just under the bite apple logo.
This latest information suggests that Apple will opt for the most elegant solution when implementing the Touch ID system on the iPhone 8, since users will only have to put their finger on the screen and the optical scanner will authenticate the fingerprint .

The source of this news is promising. DigiTimes has transcribed the Chinese language to the Economic Daily News newspaper and mentions that the information comes from TSMC , who shared details about the smartphone at a company conference. TSMC is currently manufacturing the A11 chips of the iPhone 8, so they may have insider information.
