Flyover, the incredible feeling of flying around the world

Today I invite you to travel around the world and without leaving the house, without having to have a transport ticket and even without hotel reservation. It is an option that we find within the Maps application, which is found as native to our devices. Apple named it Flyover and we have to say that the first time it is used impresses .

What is it?

Nothing more and nothing less than a virtual tour through many cities of the world , although every day is increasing, with real 3D images. According to the Apple website , the Flyover is available from the iPhone 4s or later, iPad Pro, iPad Air or later, iPad 2 or later, iPad mini or later and iPod touch (5th generation or later). Logically the more advanced the device and therefore, the better the processor, the more fluid the feeling.

Where can I go?

The list of countries does not fall short, being able to know United States, Mexico, France, Great Britain, Denmark, Italy, Austria or Germany among others. In each of these countries you will find different cities to take a tour of the points of interest of each one. It is a very graphic and realistic way of putting monumental sets in the cities and seeing them like you've never seen them before .

Cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Salamanca, Cadiz, San Sebastian, Valladolid, Lugo, Zaragoza, León, Cáceres, Cordoba, Jerez de la Frontera, Huelva or Almeria.
However, I appreciated that the map of Spanish cities that Apple offers on its website does not fit the reality. There are cities that are listed on Flyover, but then when you go to the application, they do not appear. They are those of Murcia, Badajoz, Gijón, A Coruña and Alicante. We do not know the reason for this difference between what is listed on the page and what actually exists , but we hope that these cities will soon be available in the Flyover experience.

Maps and Flyover, one step ahead

Thanks to the Maps application we can often do without additional GPS devices, but with the addition of these 3D virtual tours and its magnificent image quality goes a few steps further . The first time I used it, back in 2012 with iOS 6, I was surprised, despite the poor availability of cities. Hopefully as it has been happening with Street View , there is almost no place on the globe to travel without leaving home.
