WhatsApp is launching the Multi Media Server service for all iOS users!

WhatsApp was working these months on a new media sharing service, in order to ensure greater reliability and quality of data: the Multi Media Server protocol. This protocol, developed by Microsoft, has been adopted by WhatsApp to share communication systems, which are now hosted on Facebook servers .
MMS is used by WhatsApp to transfer all multimedia data in real time , and is the same protocol used to implement the streaming video function, recently enabled for all iOS users.
From today, WhatsApp is launching the MMS protocol for all iOS users to share GIFs, documents and videos, which can be downloaded simultaneously. Simultaneous downloads were already supported, but now WhatsApp is managing the number of GIFs, documents and videos the user can simultaneously download , and WhatsApp can change this value when needed.
The user experience will not change visually: it will continue to share the media as usual and obviously the means shared with this new protocol will continue to be coded from end to end, ensuring better service thanks to Multi Media Server. WhatsApp is still working to implement support for sharing images, audio files and voice messages, which will be available later.
There will also be the possibility to share images without being compressed (and not shared as a file) thanks to the Multi Media Server protocol. WhatsApp is working on it, but it is not known for sure if they will actually allow it: if they do, they will surely notify you on Twitter.
Remember that to use WhatsApp on your iPhone, you need iOS 7 or higher . For everything to go smoothly you must use the most up-to-date iOS version for your iPhone. Also, and it's a shame and the iPod and iPad devices are not compatible with WhatsApp, unlike Telegram.
