How long should your iPhone last?

Do you know how long your iPhone should last? Given the programmed obsolescence and technical complications related to the advancement of technology, the answer will surprise you.
From Apple ensure that their devices have a long life . And it's true, if we compare Apple iPhone to other Android smartphones, they usually last many years and are compatible with many more versions of their respective mobile operating systems .
However, recently it has been discovered that this is not exactly true ... Do you want to know how old your new iPhone will last?

How much life does an iPhone provide?

Every year, Apple presents an environmental report , which gives us a clue about the steps the company gives so that its iPhone can last at least three years.
While three years is a fairly decent length, Apple is struggling against a lawsuit that led to the premature death of many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. According to the apple company's bite defense, they are only made responsible for ensuring that their iPhone has a one year life in their warranty.
So, legally an iPhone should last only a year . So why do they usually mention that they can last up to three years? The answer is simple: iOS.
Apple releases a new version of its mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch every year. The iOS features are often very exciting, which invites users to update their handsets.
But there is a catch, the new updates make older devices do not work as they should . On the other hand, there are many iPhone that are becoming obsolete due to this premise. For example, the iPhone 5 of 2012 was compatible with iOS 10 (that's 4 - 5 years of life). But it is not compatible with iOS 11 .
Then, we could consider that each iPhone would have to last at least 4 to 5 years before becoming obsolete . Based on the precedents, the new iPhone 8 will be obsolete in 2022, when Apple presents iOS 16 in 2022. What do you think about this? Do you think an iPhone should last longer?
