The iPhone X will cost $ 2100 in Brazil [we've gone crazy]

One of the peculiarities that some countries have is the tariffs, taxes applied to imports that have the objective of protecting the industry of a country. If it is cheaper to manufacture something outside, the jobs go out as well. By charging a large amount of money to imports, it is encouraged that something be manufactured inside the country, instead of importing it from abroad. It is for this reason that Foxconn has an iPhones factory in Brazil and consider doing the same in India , two countries known for the protectionism of their own industry.

Apple will put the iPhone X on sale in Brazil on December 8th. It will not be the only Latin American country where the iPhone starts selling. In Colombia it will happen on December 1, and in Chile, on the 7th of the same month. According to the Apple website , the iPhone X in Brazil will cost 6,999 reais, which remains above 2100 dollars at today's exchange ... or about 1800 €. It is an authentic madness . These prices are probably due to these tariffs, which end up paying users instead of companies. An iPhone X in an Apple Store in Brazil costs twice as much as in the US, and is much more expensive than in the other countries where Apple sells this machine.
No other iPhone X prices are known in other Latin American countries, but we will probably know them soon. Meanwhile, Brazilians will probably try to get their iPhone X overseas, by all means. With price differences so it is logical that there is a huge gray market in which an iPhone X sealed, brand new, is sold significantly more expensive than in an Apple Store.
