Instagram wants to imitate Facebook

Instagram, the social messaging application, wants to imitate its parent company Facebook in one aspect, messaging. If you remember, the Facebook application emancipated the messages to a separate application, Facebook Messenger. This can be downloaded and installed from the App Store, and it seems that you can have similar plans for Instagram , making the messaging go in a separate application.
Instagram is testing a new application called Direct and once installed, the inbox disappears from the main application.
Direct is being tested on both iOS and Android in six countries: Chile, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Uruguay . While for the moment only these few countries are chosen, the guidelines of the company would be to make this decision globally.
Direct has grown within Instagram over the past four years, but we can do even better if it's independent. We can expand the limits to create the fastest and most creative space to share privately when Direct is the independent application of the camera . "
And this has a reason for being, Instagram is a photography (and video) app , and wants to continue being it. So much so that when you open the application, what you see in the first place are photos and more photos.
And the proof of this is the launch of two new features in the main application , Highlights and File. The former allows you to convert Stories into a featured publication at the top of your profile page, while Archive allows you to see your past stories once they have expired.
Instagram was launched in October 2010. This application won fierce popularity, reaching more than 100 million active users in April 2012 and more than 300 million in December 2014, and it is true that it has a special charm .
